Send Simrix Monitor alerts to a Slack channel
Simrix Monitor posts alerts straight into a Slack channel. Connect it once from Integrations with Add to Slack and pick the channel. Each failure then arrives with the step that failed, the reason in plain English, and links to the check and its shareable report; recoveries and page changes arrive the same way.
Steps
- In Simrix Monitor, open Integrations and choose Add to Slack. Connecting Slack needs the Owner or Admin role.
- Slack asks which channel the alerts should go to. Pick one and choose Allow.
- Back on Integrations, choose Send test message and check that it arrives in the channel.
- To show the picture of the failed step in each alert, turn on Include the screenshot for the channel, and Include a shareable report link in alerts in the settings of each monitor you want pictures for.
What arrives in the channel
A failure leads with the evidence, as the alert email does: the monitor's name, then Failed at step 4 of 6: The payment form appears, the reason in plain English and what likely happened. Below that come the picture, when the channel shows pictures, the site and the time in each reader's own time zone, and two buttons: View check opens the check in Simrix Monitor, Open shareable report opens its evidence report for anyone, without an account.
When the monitor passes again, a recovery says how long it was failing and across how many checks. A change monitor posts when the page changes, with the summary of what changed.
What Simrix Monitor can do in your Slack
Post in the channel you picked, and nothing else. Add to Slack asks Slack for one permission, incoming-webhook, which can post to that one channel. It cannot read messages, list channels or see who is in the workspace. The channel's address is encrypted before it is stored and is never shown in the app.
Pictures are off until you turn them on
The picture comes from the check's shareable report, and Slack keeps a copy of any image posted in a channel. So it is a choice made per channel, with Include the screenshot, and it only appears for monitors that include a shareable report link in alerts. Without it, the alert still names the step and the reason, and View check shows every step's screenshot.

Frequently asked questions
Can alerts go to more than one channel?
Yes. Choose Add another channel on Integrations and pick the next one. Every connected channel receives every alert from the workspace; choosing a channel per monitor is not available yet.
Will I get a Slack message when a change monitor breaks?
Yes. A change monitor that cannot check its page posts a failure, and a detected change posts a change alert.
Which plans include Slack?
The paid plans, as for webhooks and the API. The pricing page lists what each plan includes.
How do I stop alerts going to a channel?
Choose Disconnect for the channel on Integrations. Alerts stop at once. The app stays listed in that Slack channel until it is removed there too, and the page links to Slack's settings for it.
Why did Check now not post in Slack?
Checks you run by hand never send alerts, by email, Slack or webhook, so you can test a monitor without pinging the channel. The next scheduled check posts the alert if the monitor is still failing. To check the connection itself, choose Send test message on Integrations.
What if a message does not arrive?
The channel's card on Integrations says how the last message went, in words: delivered, or what Slack said, such as the channel being archived. Connecting the channel again fixes most of them.
