Visualping vs Distill.io, with Simrix Monitor alongside

Visualping and Distill.io both watch a page and tell you when it changes. Simrix Monitor does that too, and also clicks through journeys like add to cart and checkout to confirm they still work. This page sets the three side by side so you can see which job you actually have.

The Simrix Monitor column is checked against the product itself. Rows marked "Not verified yet" are ones we will not state on another vendor's behalf until we have confirmed them against their own documentation.

What are you actually trying to catch?

Page watching and journey monitoring answer different questions, and the right choice follows from which one you have.

If you want to know when a page you do not control changes, a competitor's pricing page or a supplier's stock message, you want page watching. If you want to know that your own checkout still takes orders, page watching will not tell you: the page can look identical while the button underneath it has stopped responding.

Simrix Monitor includes page watching on every plan, so choosing it for journeys does not mean giving the other up.

How does Simrix Monitor keep change alerts quiet?

An alert needs a real difference. The text has to change by enough to matter rather than a stray character, or the rendered pixels have to differ beyond a small threshold. Ad containers are hidden and cookie prompts dismissed before the page is captured, and the tool remembers which dismissal worked on which site.

You can also watch a region rather than a whole page: pick the price block or the stock message in a live preview and everything else can change freely. Simrix Monitor stores both the element and its position, so it falls back to the saved position if the markup changes underneath you.

What can none of the three do?

Simrix Monitor checks never sign in and never complete a purchase. There is nowhere to store credentials or card details, and a region that looks like it contains a password or payment field is flagged for review rather than blocked outright; we would rather tell you that than let you assume a block exists. Checks also run from one location, so this is not a geographic availability tool.

For the other two columns, we will not state what they can and cannot do until we have verified it against their own documentation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch a competitor's page with Simrix Monitor?

Yes, as long as it is publicly reachable. You mark each site as your own, a competitor or one you are just watching when you add it, and that label follows it through the app.

Will the first check tell me something changed?

No. The first check stores the baseline, so there is nothing to compare against yet. The check after it is the first that can report a change.

Do I need a browser extension?

Not for Simrix Monitor. Checks run on our own infrastructure on a schedule, so nothing depends on a browser being open or a laptop being awake.

Where do change alerts go?

Email, Slack, or a signed webhook to any URL you choose. Teams and Discord need a webhook pointed at a relay such as Zapier or Make.
