Simrix Monitor as a Distill.io alternative

Simrix Monitor and Distill.io both watch websites so you hear about a problem before your customers do. This page sets out what each one is for, what Simrix Monitor does and does not do, and which of the two fits the job you actually have.

When should you choose Simrix Monitor?

  • Checks run on our infrastructure on a schedule, so nothing depends on your browser being open or your laptop being awake.
  • You want journey monitoring as well as page watching: clicking through to the cart and confirming checkout opens, not only comparing a page to its past.
  • Alerts carry a screenshot and a plain-English summary aimed at whoever is on duty, not only a notification that something moved.

Frequently asked questions

Does Simrix Monitor need a browser extension?

No. Checks run on our own infrastructure on a schedule. There is nothing to install in your browser and nothing to keep open.

Can Simrix Monitor watch a page behind a login?

No. Every check starts from a logged-out browser and there is nowhere to store credentials, so pages that require signing in are out of reach.

How does Simrix Monitor avoid alerting on every small change?

An alert needs a real difference: the text changed enough to matter, or the rendered pixels differ beyond a small threshold. Ad slots are hidden and cookie banners dismissed before capture, so page furniture does not trip it.
