Simrix Monitor as a Ghost Inspector alternative

Simrix Monitor and Ghost Inspector both watch websites so you hear about a problem before your customers do. This page sets out what each one is for, what Simrix Monitor does and does not do, and which of the two fits the job you actually have.

When should you choose Simrix Monitor?

  • You want monitoring rather than a test suite: a handful of journeys watched continuously, not a regression pack to maintain.
  • You want change detection and competitor watching in the same tool, included on every plan rather than bought separately.
  • You want the alert to be readable by whoever is on duty, with a screenshot and a plain-English summary rather than a test report.

Frequently asked questions

Is Simrix Monitor a testing tool?

It is a monitoring tool. The distinction matters: it watches a small number of journeys continuously on a schedule and tells you when one stops working, rather than running a suite against a build.

Can Simrix Monitor record my steps by clicking through the site?

Not today. You pick a template and point it at a page, choosing the element to click and what should be true afterwards. Region selection does use a live preview of the page.

Can a check test a logged-in journey?

No. Checks always start logged out and there is nowhere to store credentials. A region that looks like a password field is flagged for review rather than blocked.
