Simrix Monitor as a Pingdom alternative

Simrix Monitor and Pingdom both watch websites so you hear about a problem before your customers do. This page sets out what each one is for, what Simrix Monitor does and does not do, and which of the two fits the job you actually have.

When should you choose Simrix Monitor?

  • You care whether someone can buy, not whether the server answered. A 200 response tells you nothing about a checkout that stopped working.
  • You want the evidence attached to the alert, so you can tell whether it is serious without opening a dashboard.
  • You want page change monitoring in the same tool, so a silent template change is caught as well as an outage.

Frequently asked questions

Does Simrix Monitor replace uptime monitoring?

Not exactly. It answers a different question: whether the journey still works, not whether the server responded. Many people run both, since an uptime tool is better at telling you the whole site is down.

Does Simrix Monitor check from multiple regions?

No. Checks run from one location, so it is not a geographic availability tool and there is no uptime percentage or status page to publish.

Is there an SLA or uptime report?

No. There is no uptime percentage, no SLA reporting and no public status page you can publish to your own customers.
